Let's Talk Foundation, in partnership with Apex International University, successfully hosted a Women's Empowerment Workshop on Saturday, 22nd August 2026, at the Apex International University Bukoto Campus.
Held under the theme "Empowering Women for Financial Sustainability", the workshop brought together over 120 women for a day of learning, networking, financial training, personal development, legal awareness, and discussions on the wellbeing and empowerment of women.
The event was designed to equip women with practical knowledge and skills to improve their financial decision-making, strengthen their livelihoods, and create sustainable opportunities for themselves, their families, and their communities.
A Strategic Partnership for Women's Empowerment and Education
The workshop was conducted as part of a broader partnership between Let's Talk Foundation and Apex International University, aimed at promoting access to education and empowering individuals and communities through knowledge and skills.
Apex International University demonstrated its commitment to supporting the Foundation's empowerment initiatives by committing to provide free scholarships to individuals recommended by Let's Talk Foundation who wish to pursue higher education. Through this initiative, eligible individuals recommended by Let's Talk Foundation will have an opportunity to pursue Certificates, Diplomas, and Degree programmes at Apex International University.
This commitment is intended to help remove some of the financial barriers that prevent deserving individuals from accessing higher education and to provide a pathway for people to improve their knowledge, professional skills, employability, and contribution to society.
Over 120 Women Participate
The workshop attracted more than 120 women from different backgrounds, creating a vibrant platform for learning, interaction, networking, and sharing experiences. Participants actively engaged in various training sessions and discussions designed to help them develop practical skills for managing their finances and planning for a more secure future.
Focus on Saving and Investment
A major focus of the workshop was saving and investment. Participants were equipped with practical knowledge on the importance of developing a saving culture, setting financial goals, managing personal finances, and identifying appropriate investment opportunities. Key areas covered included:

Empowerment Through Knowledge of the Law

The Wellbeing of Women
Let's Talk Foundation also emphasised the importance of the overall wellbeing of women — recognising that financial challenges can affect emotional wellbeing, family relationships, confidence, productivity, and quality of life. The workshop therefore provided an opportunity to promote a holistic approach to empowerment, considering women's financial, mental, social, legal, educational, and personal wellbeing.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants received certificates of participation and recognition in appreciation of their commitment to the programme — celebrating their willingness to invest in themselves through learning, networking, and personal development.

One of the most significant aspects of the partnership between Let's Talk Foundation and Apex International University is the recognition of education as a powerful tool for transformation. Through the scholarship commitment, individuals recommended by Let's Talk Foundation will be supported to pursue Certificates, Diplomas, and Degrees at Apex International University — creating an important link between community empowerment and higher education.
